The Reading Public Library in Pennsylvania is set to debut a collection of writings by William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, next month. The collection, which includes essays, letters, and sermons, provides insights into Penn's religious beliefs, political ideas, and his vision for a just and peaceful society. The display is a result of a partnership with the Reading Central Library in the U.K. and will be available for public viewing through the end of 2025.

Born in 1644, William Penn was an English Quaker who founded the Pennsylvania Colony. His writings have been compiled into a comprehensive collection that will be displayed at the Reading Public Library's main branch. The collection will be unveiled at a private reception on Wednesday, November 27, according to the library's website.

Melissa Adams, the Executive Director of the Reading Public Library, expressed her excitement about the upcoming display. "We are thrilled to be partnering with our sister library in the U.K. to bring this vital piece of our collective history to life," she said in a statement reported by BCTV.org.

The collection will be open to the public from December 2024 until the end of 2025. For more information about the display, visit the Reading Public Library's website.
