Approximately 195 UGI customers in Berks County, Pennsylvania, experienced a gas service interruption over the weekend due to an issue at the company's regulator station. The interruption left customers without heating during the cold weather.
UGI, a natural gas and electric utility company, has since resolved the issue at the regulator station. However, the company's crews must now enter each affected home to reestablish service and relight appliances. As a safety measure, UGI is urging customers not to attempt to relight their appliances themselves.
The company is committed to keeping its customers informed during an outage and providing safety information and outage restoration updates as soon as the information is available. As of now, there are no reported outages in the UGI Electric territory, according to the company's website.
