A massive hay bale fire that broke out at Haldeman Farms in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, late Monday night is expected to continue burning for at least another week. The fire, which could be seen from over ten miles away, is now under control, but the hay is expected to smolder for some time due to the lack of rain in the forecast.
The fire started around 11:00 p.m. on the 500 block of Trail Road, prompting responses from several local fire departments and the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.
As of Tuesday morning, crews had successfully controlled the fire and left the scene. No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
