(Reading, PA) -- Berks County-based Met-Ed is sending employees to help with power restoration efforts in the areas hit by Hurricane Ida. Met-Ed's parent company, FirstEnergy, is going to send roughly 500 contractors, support personnel, and line workers to Louisiana. A spokesperson for the utility says they will be working 16-hours on and eight-hours off. They are expected to be gone at least three weeks.
