>>Reading Juneteenth Celebration Set For Weekend Of June 17th
(Reading, PA) -- The holiday that marks the end of slavery will be recognized during events June 17th to June 20th in Reading. Organizers say Juneteenth festivities will include a community family barbecue and ceremonies at two local churches. The first one will happen June 18th at St. John Missionary Baptist Church and another will happen at Holy Trinity Church of God on June 20th. That service will be followed by a community walk to support action on overcoming increasing violence in the area.
