>>Houlahan Asks White House To Suspend LNG Transportation By Train

(Reading, PA) -- Representative Chrissy Houlahan of Berks County is asking the federal government to suspend transporting liquified natural gas by train. She sent a letter Friday to the Department of Transportation secretary, alongside three other House lawmakers from Pennsylvania. It comes a little more than three weeks after a dangerous train derailment on the state border with Ohio. Houlahan says the previous LNG-by-Rail rule, which was enacted by the Trump Administration, didn't include adequate safeguards. If granted, her version would mandate that LNG couldn't be transported by train without operational controls, equipment standards and accident response protocols in place.
