(Reading, PA) -- A woman who was previously an officer with a Hamburg School District parent-teacher organization is accused of stealing more than 50-thousand-dollars from the group. State police have charged Alison Haines with felony theft and fraud for unauthorized spending of the Perry Elementary School PTO's funds. Members told police they discovered the missing money after a self-audit of bank records. Haines is free on bail after she turned herself in. She reportedly told state police she used the PTO's credit card to withdraw funds for personal use and to pay her bills.
