Artifacts Missing From Gettysburg

Gettysburg National Military Park officials are seeking public assistance in locating artifacts that went missing between December 2023 and January 2024. The artifacts were taken from a historical site near Brooke Avenue, commonly referred to as the Timbers farm, located on the southern end of the battlefield. The park has not provided specific details about the missing artifacts.

The park's law enforcement rangers are conducting an active investigation into the disappearance. They are urging anyone who was in the area of Timbers farm during the specified period or anyone with information that could help in the investigation to come forward. Informants can choose to remain anonymous.

According to the park's official website, anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Adams County Crimestoppers hotline at 717-334-8057. Tips can also be submitted to accrimestoppers.com or via email to the park at GETT_Superintendent@nps.gov. A reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of the artifacts.

The Gettysburg National Military Park is a significant historical site, preserving the landscape of the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War. The loss of these artifacts represents a significant loss to the historical record of this important site.
