RED FLAG WARNINGS ISSUED FOR PENNSYLVANIA

>>DCNR Temporarily Bans Campfires

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Campfires are temporarily banned in Pennsylvania state parks and forest lands. The Department of Conservation of Natural Resources says campfires are prohibited until further notice due to the ongoing drought. DCNR says leaf litter, fine twigs, and dried branches are "prime fuel sources" for a fire that could spread out of control in the dry conditions. More than 100 wildfires have started in Pennsylvania over the past week.

RED FLAG WARNING:

Another Red Flag Warning has been issued today as the combination of winds, low humidity and very dry conditions will help any potential wildfires to spread quickly, so please avoid any open burning! It will remain windy at times today with highs near 70. More great weather tonight for all the area High School football playoff games.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK:

It will be cooler but there will be plenty of Saturday sunshine with highs near 60. Clouds will be on the increase on Sunday with a few showers moving in during the afternoon and evening. Overall, it's looking like about .25 to .50" of rain, so not a drought buster but we will certainly take it.

VETERANS DAY:

After some early clouds, skies will clear and it will be pleasant for our Veterans Day events with highs in the mid 60s

CBS 21 FIRST WARNING WEATHER FORECAST:

Today: Mostly Sunny, Breezy: High 70

Tonight: Clear Skies: Low 38

Tomorrow: Mostly Sunny: High 58

Sunday: Cloudy, Scattered Afternoon and Evening Showers: High 56
