Angel Vasquez, a 30-year-old man from Reading, Pennsylvania, has been acquitted of all charges related to an alleged sexual assault incident that took place last year. The verdict was delivered by a jury last week, following a trial in which Vasquez faced 11 criminal counts, including rape of an unconscious person and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.
The charges stemmed from an incident that allegedly occurred on May 29, 2023, at a residence in Shillington, a borough in Berks County. The initial investigation was conducted by the Shillington Police Department and the Berks County Detectives Major Crime Unit.
Berks County District Attorney John Adams confirmed Vasquez's acquittal but declined to comment further on the case. Vasquez's attorney also confirmed the not guilty verdict but did not provide additional details.
This case highlights the importance of due process in the legal system, ensuring that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
