Berks DA Frustrated After Shooting Suspect Allowed To Leave NY Custody

(Reading, PA) -- The Berks County District Attorney says a man accused of shooting at police officers earlier this week shouldn't have been in Reading in the first place. D-A John Adams said Davius Ortiz is facing six felony weapons charges in New York and has already been extradited back to the city on two occasions. Adams said the "lack of accountability" in the Big Apple is now affecting the community's safety. Ortiz is being held in Berks County on one-million-dollars bail.
