Reading School District Responds To ICE Raids
(Reading, PA) -- As federal agencies conduct immigration raids across the country, the Reading School District says it will remain a welcoming environment for all students. In a statement yesterday, the district said it will not ask students or their families about their immigration status for non-educational purposes. The district added that it will not allow law enforcement including ICE onto campuses unless "absolutely required by law." RSD is encouraging students and families to ensure their emergency contact information is up to date and know their rights.
