$850K Grant Announced For Penn Square Project
(Reading, PA) -- The City of Reading is set to begin a major project downtown. Pennsylvania officials have announced an 850-thousand-dollar grant meant to improve accessibility for pedestrians at Fifth and Penn Streets. Among the plans for the area are ADA-accessible sidewalks, pedestrian lighting, and benches. State Senator Judy Schwank said the project is the start of a process to make Penn Square a place where people want to "stay, work, and invest."
