Police in Reading, Pennsylvania, are investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning (June 22) on Oak Lane. A man was found shot between two parked cars after attending a nearby party on the 1200 block of Lorraine Road. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim died at the scene. Authorities believe the shooting is directly related to the party, and they are urging attendees to come forward with any information.
Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams stated that a search warrant executed at the party location uncovered spent casings and a cell phone, which may provide leads in the investigation. "We are looking for any and all information that we can gather in regard to the individuals who attended this party," Adams said.
The neighborhood, typically quiet and free from violence, is now at the center of an active investigation. The victim's name has not yet been released. Anyone with information is urged to contact Reading Police at 610-655-6116 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913.
