Grosfillex Agrees To Almost $5M Settlement
(South Heidelberg Township, PA) -- A Berks County furniture manufacturer is agreeing to a multimillion-dollar settlement to resolve allegations it violated federal law. The Justice Department accused Grosfillex of violating the False Claims Act and other laws by lying on customs forms and failing to correct them. Prosecutors claimed the South Heidelberg-based company was trying to avoid paying duties on imports from China. Grosfillex reportedly agreed to pay almost five-million-dollars.
