Fatal Berks County Crash Under Investigation

A tragic crash in South Heidelberg Township, Berks County, left a 24-year-old man dead on Wednesday (July 30). The incident occurred around 5:32 a.m. at the intersection of Route 422 and Old West Penn Avenue. The victim, identified as Daniel Kundrat, was riding a motorcycle when it collided with a sedan.

According to the South Heidelberg Township Police Department, Kundrat was ejected from his motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries. Despite immediate efforts by police and emergency medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The sedan's driver stayed on-site and is cooperating with the investigation. Several witnesses have also provided information to the authorities.

The crash closed a section of Route 422 between Sportsman Road and Old West Penn Avenue for about two hours. The Berks County Coroner's Office reported that Kundrat died of shock due to multiple injuries, ruling the death accidental, as reported by the Reading Eagle.
