Authorities are still investigating a shooting that took place on Labor Day in Exeter Township, Berks County. The incident, which occurred at the Exeter Village apartment complex, involved a personal conflict between the shooter and the victim. According to the Berks County District Attorney's Office, the shooting may have been a case of self-defense.
The shooting happened on the 400 block of Chalfont Place, and police were alerted around 1:30 p.m. on Monday (September 1). Officers found the male victim and provided aid before he was transported to Reading Hospital for surgery. He is expected to recover.
The shooter, an adult male, surrendered to the police shortly after the incident and was taken in for questioning. As of now, no charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing. District Attorney John T. Adams stated that more information will be released as the investigation progresses.
