One of the two teenagers wanted in connection with a shooting in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, has turned himself in. Fifteen-year-old Ethan Arce surrendered to authorities earlier this week, according to Wyomissing police. Arce is charged as an adult for his role in the incident that occurred on August 12. The charges include robbery, aggravated assault, and firearms violations.
The shooting took place in the 1000 block of Bern Road, where a juvenile male was shot in the leg. The victim and two friends had just left a restaurant when they were approached by Arce and another suspect, Ethan Gonzalez. During the altercation, Gonzalez allegedly retrieved a gun and fired, hitting the victim. The victim was treated at the scene and taken to Reading Hospital, where he is expected to recover.
Authorities report that Arce is being held at Berks County Jail on $75,000 bail. Meanwhile, Gonzalez remains at large, and police are actively seeking information on his whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Wyomissing Police Department.
Both teenagers have been charged as adults due to the seriousness of the crime. Gonzalez faces additional charges, including attempted homicide. The investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from a pre-arranged fight that escalated into a robbery.
