(Spring Township, PA) -- A Wilson School Board member is advocating for electric school buses. The board voted eight to one yesterday to approve the purchase of seven propane-fuel school buses. Dissenting member Ed Case is asking the board to delay action until fair consideration can be given to electric vehicles. Case says three-billion dollars in grant money is available for electric buses. Superintendent Dr. Richard Faidley brought up concerns about battery replacement costs and climate issues with electric buses. Others expressed concerns about the cost of ownership. A contract was approved for the propane-fueled buses.

(Shillington, PA) -- The Governor Mifflin School Board is taking action on financial items. The board approved the use of separate firms yesterday for the 2020 ACA Employer Reporting and the district's year-end audits. The board also approved the Renewal Agreement for special education services and the E-Rate Consulting Services Agreement to receive discounted rates on telecommunications and internet services with Berks County Intermediate Unit.

(Reading, PA) -- A Reading nonprofit that helps mothers in need is getting a new van. Heritage Auto Sales donated the van to Hannah's Hope Ministries yesterday. Ministry officials say moms can rent the van for a low cost to meet travel needs. Hannah's Hope provides services and care to homeless women and their children.
