>>Reading To Increase Pay For Part-Time Employees

(Reading, PA) -- Part-time employees in Reading are going to get a nice little bump in pay. Reading City Council voted yesterday to raise the base minimum pay for part-time workers to 15-dollars-an-hour. Officials say raising the base pay will help fill vacancies to improve the city's overall operations. The pay will be retroactive to January First.

>>Reading To Get Its Own Skatepark

(Reading, PA) -- Reading is going to be getting its own skatepark. Reading City Council voted during a meeting held yesterday to spend about 241-thousand-dollars to start the construction of the Canal Street Skate Park at 601 Canal Street. The Reading Skatepark Association has received grants to cover most of the project, but it asked the council to allocate some additional funds to help get construction started sooner. Officials say they hope to have the new park open by July of next year.

>>BARTA Still Requiring Employees And Riders To Wear Masks

(Reading, PA) -- Berks County's transit authority is still requiring employees and riders to wear masks. BARTA officials recently announced that they operate under a federal mandate and a rule set down from the Federal Transit Administration. Officials say they are hoping they can get rid of the mask mandate by September 13th.

>>Police Continue Investigating Shooting Incident In Lancaster County

(Lancaster Township, PA) -- Police are continuing to investigate a shooting incident in Lancaster County. The incident happened yesterday morning in the 17-hundred- block of Judie Lane in Lancaster Township. Police say nobody was injured, but multiple shots were fired inside an apartment complex and several struck parked vehicles near the area. Anyone with any information is being asked to contact the Manheim Township Police.

>>Statues Vandalized At Franklin-And-Marshall College

(Lancaster, PA) -- Authorities are launching an investigation after some statues was vandalized on the campus of Franklin-and-Marshall College. A statue of John Marshall as well as a statue of Ben Franklin were found covered with red paint on Sunday. School officials say the damage is being estimated, and no suspect has been identified at this time.
