(Reading, PA) -- The Reading community is working towards stopping the recent rise of youth violence in the city. The community held a town hall to discuss the issue in the gymnasium at the Olivet Boys and Girls Pendora Park Club this past Saturday. At the meeting, members announced that they're launching a new Community Youth Empowerment Organization. The organization is going to work on creating initiatives to address community-police relations, education and how to reduce street crime.

(West Reading, PA) -- A city arborist is assessing some trees in Reading after one fell and killed a man. The accident happened this past Thursday night on the Lindbergh Viaduct in east Reading. Officials say a large tree fell onto a 63-year-old man's vehicle and crushed it. He was taken to Reading Hospital, but later died from a head injury. The city's Department of Public Works sent its arborist to the scene to inspect trees in the area.

(Reading, PA) -- The Reading Fightins are preparing to play home games at FirstEnergy Stadium this coming May. The team released the home schedule this past Friday, which will kick off with a six-game stand against the Erie SeaWolves beginning May 4th at 7:05 p.m. Another series will start May 25th against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. No homes games will be played on Mondays this season. Officials with the team say they will announce how many fans will be able to attend the games later this month.

(Reading, PA) -- At least one person is dead after a motorcycle accident in Reading. The crash happened yesterday afternoon at the intersection of Lackawanna Street and Schuylkill Avenue on Route 183. Officials say another vehicle was involved in the accident, and the Berks County coroner was called to the scene. It is unknown at this time if anyone else was injured in the crash.

(Lancaster, PA) -- Authorities are trying to determine how much property was damaged during multiple brush fires that broke out inLancasterCounty. The fires happened yesterday while the county was under a Red Flag warning because of weather conditions. One blaze was reported in the 12-hundred-block of Stoney Lane in Conestoga Township, and another was reported near the 500-block of Turnpike Road in West Donegal Township. No injuries were reported from the separate brush fires, but authorities are currently looking into how many acres in the county were affected.
