(Reading, PA) -- The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a small plane from Reading, Berks County that went missing after crashing into the ocean late Sunday night. Coast Guard officials say the Piper 28 aircraft went down around 10:30 p.m. Sunday off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The FAA says the plane left from Reading Regional Airport and was headed to Chatham Municipal Airport on Cape Cod. The pilot, whose name has not been released, was the only person on board
>>Lancaster Man Faces 100 Years in Prison for Shooting that Injured Four People
(Lancaster, PA) -- A Lancaster County man has been convicted of attempted voluntary manslaughter and other charges related to a shooting that injured four people last year. Prosecutors said 21-year-old Mark Ivie Jr. opened fire at a group of men after an fight at his Ephrata home in July of last year. Investigators said Ivie fired 14 rounds at the group of men. Four of them were hit, and two bullets went into nearby homes. Sentencing is scheduled for December. Ivie could face more than 100 years in prison.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's administration is offering five days of paid leave to state workers who get fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The plan revealed Monday would have an end-of-year deadline. The five days of "verification leave" can be used between December 20th and March 31st. The administration said employees who don't use the days by then will be paid for them. Also, employees who have already verified their fully vaccinated status will automatically receive the days.

(Reading, PA) -- A spike in the market price of a precious metal in the exhaust system is driving thefts of catalytic converters on cars and trucks. Police in Berks and surrounding counties are asking people to be on the lookout for suspicious people around vehicles or the sound of a saw blade cutting metal. Investigators say thieves are using battery-powered saws to remove the converters for their value as scrap metal. Police add that metal recyclers can pay anywhere from $25 for a converter to over a thousand bucks for systems from larger trucks.

(Allentown, PA) -- The Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority wants you to take their survey, whether you use their system or not. The transit service is trying to evaluate all services it offers in Lehigh and Northampton Counties and says it needs to hear from regular riders and those who don't ride. They add that answers are anonymous, but every answer helps. The Annual Survey, which can be found on the LANTA website, is designed to be completed in less than 10 minutes.
