Stretch Of Route 222 Shut Down Due To Downed Poles, Wires In Richmond Township
(Reading, PA) -- Crews have been working through the night to fix downed power line poles on part of State Route 222. Fleetwood Police Chief Dale Ulshafer says the road was closed yesterday at Route 222 and Route 662 as well as Route 73 while traffic is being sent through Fleetwood. He said the closure might last into morning because of all the feeder roads that are getting overflow traffic. Chief Ulshafer says crews have told him high winds were to blame for the downed poles. He says one semi-driver was not injured when the power lines landed on his truck.
