>Berks County Olympian's Sentencing Postponed

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- The sentencing of a former Olympic speed skater from Berks County is being delayed. A jury convicted Allison Baver last year on two counts of making false statements designed to influence a bank, one count of money laundering, and one count of contempt. The judge in the case said Tuesday that she "hadn't slept much" thinking about the sentencing, saying she felt Baver's trial attorneys were "not constitutionally effective." The postponement is indefinite to allow Baver the chance to file motions for a new trial.
