The city of Reading, Pennsylvania, is all set to light up its Christmas tree next Tuesday. Mayor Eddie Moran announced that the tree lighting ceremony will take place at the corner of Fifth and Penn Streets at 6 p.m. The event is expected to bring the community together and kick off the holiday season with joy and togetherness.
This year's tree lighting ceremony will feature special performances that capture the spirit of the season. The Reading High School Choir and the Reading Vocal Society will deliver vocal performances, while the Olivet Boys & Girls Club will put on a dance performance. Local organizations and small businesses will also provide treats for attendees.
In a statement released by the Mayor's office, Mayor Moran said, “As the holiday season draws near, it is important for us to come together to illuminate our community with the radiant spirit of joy and togetherness. This year's tree lighting event promises special performances that will light the festive magic within us all."
The Reading Parking Authority will make several parking lots available to event-goers at no cost from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to facilitate attendance.
