>Couple Accused Of Starving, Abusing Twin Boys In Lehigh County

(Lower Macungie Township, PA) -- A mother and stepfather in Lehigh County are accused of starving and abusing two 15-year-old twin boys. District Attorney Gavin Holihan says Joshua and Tracy Dechant are each facing two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Police were called to a residence on Divot Drive in Lower Macungie Township last week after one of the boys went to a neighbor's home asking for help. He told the neighbor his stepfather forced him to stand outside naked in single-digit temperatures as a punishment, adding that the t-shirt and shorts he was wearing he had found in the yard, according to authorities. Investigators say both boys were then taken to the hospital after it became obvious that they had been starved. The DA says each of them weighs roughly 55 pounds. The normal weight for a 15-year-old boy is over 140 pounds.
