State Police have detailed the arrest of Shane Hall, 39, from Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, following an alleged illegal firearms sale in Berks County last month. Hall, a convicted felon, was apprehended after attempting to sell two AR-style rifles to an undercover trooper.
The operation was part of a joint investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Troop L Vice/Narcotics Unit and the Reading Police Department Vice Division. According to WFMZ, Hall, who had previous felony convictions in Maine in 2007 and 2011, was prohibited from possessing firearms. He allegedly assured the undercover trooper that the firearms were "clean," meaning they were not stolen or linked to previous crimes.
The Ground News reported that Hall drove approximately 120 miles from Lewistown, Mifflin County, to meet the undercover officer in Wyomissing. Upon his arrival, officers found the rifles in his vehicle, along with a 9mm pistol in plain view on the driver's seat. The firearms were functional and had not been reported stolen.
Hall faces multiple charges, including possessing a prohibited firearm. He is currently held at the Berks County Jail on $50,000 bail. The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat illegal gun trafficking in the region.
