A shooting in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday (August 12) left a minor injured, prompting a large police response. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on the 1100 block of Hill Avenue, between the Works at Wyomissing and the Metropolitan Apartments. The juvenile victim was shot in the leg and transported to Reading Hospital for treatment.

According to witnesses, the area, typically quiet and well-to-do, was suddenly filled with police activity. Daryl Mcphatter, a witness, described hearing a "little pop" and then seeing a bleeding individual, realizing it was a gunshot wound. Another witness, Keith Puhlman, reported hearing someone yelling in pain and seeing a person lying on the ground.

Wyomissing Police Chief John Phillips stated that two individuals, believed to be the shooters, fled the scene. Police from various departments, including West Reading, Spring Township, and State Police, as well as helicopters and drones, were deployed to search for the suspects. The police have described the involved parties as teenagers and are treating the incident as isolated.

The Wyomissing Police Department is actively investigating the case and urges anyone with information or video evidence to contact them. As the investigation continues, more details will be released.
