(Reading, PA) -- The Reading School District will begin the school year with virtual learning for students and staff. The board approved the measure by a vote of eight to one. The administration recommended an option where students remain at home and all teachers must be in the classroom. The superintendent did say he has complete confidence with the decisions the board made.

(Manheim Twp., PA) -- The Lancaster - Lebanon League is the latest high school league to delay the start of its fall sports season. In a 19-to-six vote, L-L followed Mid-Penn’s decision to delay the start of fall sports. Every sport, with the exception of golf, will start preseason on September 4th with the first games starting the week of the 21st. Friday night football will kick off September 25th

(Kutztown, PA) -- Many in Berks County are still cleaning up from flooding caused by Tropical Storm Isaias. Cleanups continue in Kutztown and Maidencreek Township after the storm dumped several inches of rain on Berks County. In Oley Township, officials say several bridges have been damaged and they need to be inspected to make sure they are safe.

(West Reading, PA) -- The interim head of Reading Hospital's medical staff is keeping his title. Tower Health announced Wednesday it appointed Doctor Ron Nutting as its chief medical officer. Nutting has been in the role on an interim basis since March. Nutting started his career at Reading Hospital as a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon in 1992.

>>Reading Royals, E-C-H-L Push Back Start Of Season

(Reading, PA) -- The Reading Royals and their E-C-H-L rivals are pushing back the start of their 2020-2021 season. Citing concerns about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the league announced Wednesday they will start the season December 4th, about six weeks after the original start date of October 16th. Despite the delay, the ECHL said it plans to have its teams play a full 72-game schedule.
