>>Berks Commissioner Says He May Have Been Exposed To COVID-19 

(Reading, PA) -- A Berks County commissioner says he may have been exposed to COVID-19.County Commissioner Christian Leinbach says he is self-quarantining after attending an event with Congressman Dan Meuser and is following his doctor's advice.Meuser revealed he had tested positive for the virus over the weekend.The two attended a groundbreaking for a warehouse in Bethel Township last week, adding that he spoke briefly with Meuser, but was not in close personal contact. 

>>Man Faces Attempted Homicide Charges Following Manheim Township Domestic Dispute 

(Manheim Twp., PA) -- A man is facing attempted homicide charges after a domestic dispute in Manheim Township.Fermin Vega was arrested over the weekend after being accused of strangling a woman and throwing a mangled tire iron at her earlier this month.The 32-year-old also allegedly held a loaded gun to the woman’s head, which she was able to grab as a shot was being discharged.No one was hurt by the gunshot.Police had been looking for Vega since the incident before being arrested this past weekend.

(Reading, PA) -- More events that draw crowds to downtown Reading are being called off.Reading's Holiday Parade and its Fire and Ice Festival will not be held over the next few months.Organizers say the pandemic and the fact Reading is not issuing special event permits are the reasons for the cancellations.The parade has been a staple of the city for decades. 

>>Fightin’ Phils To Host Mini-Version Of Reading Film Fest This Week 

(Reading, PA) -- The Reading Fightin’ Phils are set to host a mini-version of the Reading Film Fest Thursday night.It will feature the premiere screening of the locally shot movie Dust Nuggets as well as short films from local filmmakers. In addition, the R-Phils announced that they added a third movie night to their summer lineup.Shrek will be on their big screen on Thursday, September 3rd. 

>>Reading Public Library Temporarily Closing Center City Location Over HVAC Issue 

(Reading, PA) -- The Reading Public Library is temporarily closing its main location in center city.The decision was made after concerns with the building's air conditioning were raised.Library officials say repairs to the system are being expedited.Their southeast, northeast, and northwest branches remain open.
