(West Reading, PA) -- The West Reading police chief is accepting another job in Berks County. Chief Stephen Powell announced yesterday he is leaving the West Reading department after serving as top cop for seven years. He is going to be the new deputy chief for the Spring Township Police Department.

(Bern Township, PA) -- Berks Career and Technology Center students are going to be remote-learning for the rest of the week. BCTC officials announced both campuses in Bern Township and Oley Township are going to be closed starting today. The closure comes after six students tested positive for COVID-19. The school plans to return to in-person instruction on Monday.

(Reading, PA) -- Reading Police are investigating a shooting that led to a two-hour-long standoff. The shooting occurred yesterday afternoon at 519 South Sixth Street. Police say a man shot a woman during a domestic dispute and he locked her in a bedroom. The man had a two-hour-long standoff with police officers before he surrendered. The woman's condition is unknown, and police haven't released the suspect's charges.

>>Lancaster Woman Charged For Arson

(Lancaster County, PA) -- A Lancaster County woman is behind bars after allegedly starting a fire in a duplex building. The incident happened Tuesday in the first-block of West Main Street in Ephrata. Police say a woman started a fire in a metal tray and the flames spread to the wall of a hallway. Firefighters put it out quickly, and no one was reported injured. The woman is being charged for arson.
