(Reading, PA) -- A local company in Reading is giving Alvernia University some help to support an after-school program. Customers Bank donated 150-thousand-dollars to the university yesterday for its Reading Youth Initiative. The initiative focuses on enhancing the academic progress of students through enrichment, mentoring and support for healthy choices. Officials say the money will be used to expand services to children during the school year and in the summer.
