>>COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Opens in Saint Lawrence

(Saint Lawrence, PA) -- People in the Exeter Township School District are going to have a chance to receive a COVID-19 vaccination from Walmart. The company opened a vaccination clinic at the Lausch Administration Building located at 200 Elm Street in Saint Lawrence yesterday. It will be open until tomorrow. Those who are eligible to receive a vaccine are being encouraged to schedule an appointment by contacting the state's Link to Aging and Disability Resource Center.

>>Berks County Reported Historical Number of Overdose Deaths Last Year

(Reading, PA) -- Berks County is preparing to work harder to battle the opioid crisis after it experienced the most overdose-deaths in county history last year. Officials confirmed yesterday that there were about 130 drug-related deaths reported in 2020 by the Berks County Coroner's Office. Over one-hundred of those deaths involved fentanyl. Acting Coroner John Hollenbach says the county has already surpassed double digits for overdose deaths this year.

>>Reading School Board Approves of Hybrid Learning Option for this School Year

(Reading, PA) -- K-through-Eight students in Reading School District are going to be able to return to their classrooms in-person this school year. The school board voted seven-to-two yesterday to approve of a hybrid learning option that will be in place for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. Some of the students will be able to come back in-person starting on April 19th. Officials say the hybrid learning option is going to be implemented in a phased approach, but the remote-learning option will still be available.

(Exeter Township, PA) -- Two historical sites in Berks County are preparing to reopen for visitors soon. The Pennsylvania Historical-and-Museum Commission announced yesterday that it will be reopening all of the state's museums and historic sites on April 30th. This includes the Conrad Weiser Homestead in Heidelberg Township and the Daniel Boone Homestead in Exeter Township. The two locations will be open to visitors with limited capacity and reduced hours in place.

>>Elderly Woman Dies After Crash in Lancaster County

(East Cocalico Township, PA) -- Authorities are investigating the cause of an accident that killed an elderly woman in Lancaster County. The accident happened this past Tuesday afternoon near Stony Run and North Reading Roads in East Cocalico Township. Officials say an 86-year-old woman was killed after a tractor-trailer struck her vehicle as she attempted to pull out of the road. Anyone with any information on the accident is being asked to contact the East Cocalico Township Police Department.
