>Berks County Commissioners Commit To Giving $3M To Santander Arena

(Reading, PA) -- The Santander Arena is looking for funding before this coming hockey season. The Berks County Commissioners recently committed to giving the arena about three-million-dollars, and they will be voting on it during a meeting next Thursday. Officials with Santander say they would use the funding on much-needed upgrades such as replacing its ice panel before the Reading Royals start hosting games in October.

(Fleetwood, PA) -- The Berks County man who is being accused of taking part in the U.S. Capitol riot is due in court next week. Alan Byerly of Fleetwood is facing multiple charges after he was allegedly captured on body-cam footage attacking a number of police officers and a photographer while trying to push himself inside the Capitol building on January 6th. He is expected to show up in court on Monday for a detention hearing.

(Lancaster, PA) -- Authorities are searching for a man who is being accused of setting several fires in Lancaster over the past month. Forty-year-old Charles Cieslik is wanted on arson, aggravated assault and risking catastrophe charges. Police say Cieslik allegedly set a building on fire in the one-hundred-block of South Prince Street and started two fires in the 400-block of Beaver Street. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is being asked to contact the Lancaster Bureau of Police.

(South Heidelberg Township, PA) -- A man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle in South Heidelberg Township. The incident happened Wednesday evening on Route 422 east, also known as Penn Avenue. Police say the 60-year-old victim was crossing the street between Point Road and Mountain Boulevard when he was hit by the vehicle. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is being asked to contact Crime Alert Berks County or the South Heidelberg Township Police Department.

>>Man Accused Of Trafficking Heroin And Fentanyl In Reading

(Reading, PA) -- A Reading man is behind bars for allegedly trafficking heroin and fentanyl in the city. Ramon Belen is being charged with possession with the intent to deliver heroin and fentanyl and persons not to possess firearms after the Berks County District Attorney's Drug Task Force launched an investigation on him last February. Detectives say Belen is also facing several other charges after he sold drugs to somebody who later died of an overdose. He is being held at the Berks County Jail.
