(Reading, PA) -- Reading is getting some huge support for its battle against COVID-19 in its vulnerable communities. The city was recently awarded a grant worth almost four-million-dollars from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health. Officials say Reading will be working with Penn State College of Medicine, Reading Area Community College and Latino Connection to come up with a plan to increase the availability of COVID-19 public health information to racial and ethnic minority populations.

(Reading, PA) -- Plans of expanding G-and-T Industries in Berks County are moving forward. The company recently purchased land from the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance. Officials say the company plans on building a new facility at the location on the corner of Leiscz Bridge and Van Reed roads in Bern Township.

(Reading, PA) -- Three people are behind bars for allegedly being involved in a human trafficking ring in Berks County. Hector Rivera and Dushawn Ellis of Reading and Bridget Thompson of Lancaster are facing many charges including corrupt organizations, trafficking individuals and prostitution. Authorities say the trio preyed on young women and lured them into prostitution in and around Reading between August of 2019 and April of 2020.

(Manheim Township, PA) -- Police in Lancaster County are searching for a woman who allegedly assaulted two E-M-T workers in an ambulance. Danielle Hineline is being charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault. Police say she struck an E-M-T in the stomach and arms and hit another in the chin with a metal clip. Anyone with any information on her whereabouts is being asked to contact the Manheim Township Police Department.
