>>Weaver Nut Company Vows To Rebuild After Fire

(Clay Township, PA) -- Owners of Weaver Nut Company in Clay Township are planning to rebuild after a fire Wednesday night that destroyed their warehouse. The fire started around 6:30 p.m., and over 70 units fought the flames until 4:30 a.m. Thursday. The investigation is ongoing and involves Pennsylvania State Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

(Reading, PA) -- Pennsylvania State Police will have a DUI checkpoint in Berks County this weekend. Troopers are not saying where they will be. They will be looking for any signs of drunk or drugged driving.

(Reading, PA) -- Berks County has another 46 cases of COVID-19. The state says 24 of the 46 cases are probable and not yet confirmed. The county has had 49-thousand-71 COVID-19 cases. Statewide, one-thousand-731 new cases were reported yesterday.

>>Horse Caretaker Arrested On Animal Cruelty Charges

(Greenwich Township, PA) -- Police have arrested a 67-year-old caretaker at a horse farm in Greenwich Township on charges including animal cruelty. John Morris is in Berks County Prison after being arraigned. Three horses were seized from the farm on July 26th, and police say one died less than 24 hours later.

>>Brooks County Man Sentenced For Killing Brother

(Colebrookdale Township, PA) -- Ten to 20 years in prison is the sentence for 60-year-old Ronald Wickizer of Colebrookdale Township for killing his 55-year-old brother. He pleaded guilty to third-degree murder after having been charged with first-degree murder in Randall Wickizer's death. The two were arguing about how to care for their mother.
