(Lancaster, PA) -- Water levels are receding across central Pennsylvania, and motorists are reminded not to drive through high water. Hours after the Schuylkill River crested at a little more than 17 feet in Reading, it fell back below flood stage. It crested at more than 15-and-a-half feet near Hamburg, almost three-feet above flood stage. Berks County recorded more than seven inches of rain Wednesday, and floodwaters surrounded Reading Area Community College before receding yesterday afternoon.
