(Washington, DC) -- A Berks County man is pleading not guilty to several federal charges for allegedly assaulting three police officers and one reporter during the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Alan Byerly is accused of being in a crowd of rioters who gathered near bicycle racks and charged at police with a Taser. He hit officers after the Taser was knocked from his hands. Byerly also allegedly assaulted a news photographer who was pulled down stairs and dragged toward a mob.
