(Reading, PA) -- Reading Hospital's chief of pediatric emergency care says the increase in children testing positive for COVID-19 is due to the delta variant, fewer people wearing masks, and people not social distancing. There were 117 children who tested positive in Berks County the week ending September 1st along with over four-thousand children in the state. Dr. Christopher Valente says kids' symptoms of COVID-19 are the same as adults and can also result in Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children, or MIS-C. Valente says to his knowledge, all kids have recovered from MIS-C.
