(Palmer Township, PA) -- Palmer Township officials are calling their pilot program for recycling plastic such as bags a success so far. It began May 1st, and Palmer Recycling coordinator Cindy Oatis says the flexible plastic is taken to TotalRecycle in Berks County. The Palmer Township recycling center cannot take the bags, as they clog the machinery. Oatis says the plastic can be used for decks, walkways, and playground surfaces.
