(Lancaster, PA) -- Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro is calling for more money for police departments across the state to increase recruitment. Shapiro says more is being asked from this noble profession than ever before, the pressures are higher than ever and the mission the public has asked of officers continues to grow. He added that we can't wait until the 9-1-1 lines are flooded or there isn't an officer available for an emergency. The funding Shapiro wants would go to police departments for six-thousand-dollar signing bonuses, training and outreach.
