(Shillington, PA) -- The childhood home of late author John Updike in Shillington is now a museum and a state historical site. John Updike Society vice president Dr. James Schiff told an audience at the unveiling ceremony that the house "will complement Updike's writing and become a spot on the global literary map, like Hemingway's Key West home or Dickens' home in London." The author's four children and several of his classmates from his childhood attended the celebration. Updike died at 77 in 2009.
