>>National Guard To Help At Berks Heim Nursing Home
(Reading, PA) -- Berks County commissioners are unanimously approving a contract with the Pennsylvania National Guard to help with the staffing shortage at Berks Heim nursing home. The Guard will send 14 nursing assistants to the county-owned facility. Eight of them are medics and six are general purpose workers. The county will not have to pay for the help under a state program.
