(Reading, PA) -- Reading will hold an official groundbreaking ceremony for its new fire station next Friday at 11 a.m. The city council unanimously awarded the final construction contract for the project on Monday to Myerstown-based Shannon A. Smith Incorporated for the HVAC system. The new station will replace Reading's oldest one. The city has awarded nearly nine-million-dollars in contracts.
