>>Historic House Demolished by Mistake
(Lancaster, PA) -- Officials say an East Cocalico house that has been on the national register for historic places has mistakenly been partially torn down. WGAL-TV reports demolition was stopped on the Samuel Keller house after neighbors spotted crews and alerted the township and code enforcement. According to the East Cocalico zoning board, the owners had illegally begun work to level the property. They did not have a permit when bulldozers started to tear down the house, which was built in 1848. The new owners are expected to meet with the township next week.
