U.S. Coast Guard Calls Off Search for Reading Plane off Cape Cod

>> U.S. Coast Guard Calls Off Search for Reading Plane off Cape Cod

(Orleans, MA) -- The U.S. Coast Guard is no longer searching for a missing plane from Reading off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Officials say they suspended the search Tuesday for the Piper PA-28 aircraft that was reported missing Sunday night. The manager at the municipal airport where the plane was supposed to land says the pilot,67-year-old Roger Mills, didn't file a flight plan. Because of that, he says the airport didn't know the plane was missing until it was notified. In addition to Coast Guard ships and aircraft, the search included local harbormasters and other vessels.
