>>Reading Residents Could See Hike in Trash, Recycling Bills

(Reading, PA) --  Reading residents will most likely see a hike in their garbage bills for the next five years. The City Council on Monday night tabled a nearly 10-million five-year garbage and recycling contract with Republic Services to have more time to review the contract. As proposed, the trash contract is for a little under seven million dollars and the recycling part is for just under three million. The proposed hike would likely mean about five extra dollars per month for each residential billing. The council will vote on the contract in three weeks.
