>>State Utility Commission Approves PECO Rate Increase

(Harrisburg, PA) --  The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) recently approved PECO's [[pee-CO]]'s filed settlement agreement for a $132 million increase in electric distribution rates. The funds would reportedly be used to invest in strengthening the local energy grid stronger so that it's more resilient to extreme weather and to prevent outages. The increase would also be used to advance clean energy technologies and expand assistance for low-income customers. A typical residential customer would see an increase of about seven dollars a month and a typical commercial bill would go up by 25-dollars per month, or three percent. The new electric delivery rates will take effect on January 1, 2022.
