>>UPDATE: 12 Die in Rowhouse Fire In Philadelphia

(Philadelphia, PA) -- A dozen people, including eight children, have died after a fire in Philadelphia Wednesday morning. Officials changed the number of deaths after more information was confirmed Wednesday. The fire happened in a three-story row house in the city's Fairmount neighborhood that had been converted into two apartments. Reports indicate the home is owned by the Philadelphia Housing Authority. City deputy fire commissioner Craig Murphy called it "one of the worst fires I've ever been to." Officials say there were several fire alarms in the building, but they reportedly weren't working. The cause is under investigation.
