(Boyertown, PA) -- Residents with the Boyertown Area Historical Society are honoring the victims of a 1908 fire at Rhoads Opera House. The organization commemorated the event yesterday that left 170 dead. About 340 people were attending a play that night about the Scottish Reformation. The blaze got underway when a person backstage hit a kerosene foot lamp, setting the curtain on fire just before a deadly explosion.
